About Us

Welcome to Aid the Needy Kenya (ATN-K)

For over 15 years, Aid the Needy Kenya (ATN-K) has been at the forefront of community-driven development, working alongside vulnerable communities to create lasting solutions that improve lives and promote sustainable development.

Established with a vision of building resilient and self-reliant communities, ATN-K is a registered Community-Based Organization (CBO) committed to addressing poverty through integrated programs in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Food Security, Community Health, Quality Education, Renewable Energy, Environmental Conservation, Technical and Vocational Skills Development, Circular Economy, and Sustainable Livelihoods.

Operating primarily within Kenya's Lake Victoria Basin, we believe that every individual deserves access to opportunities that enable them to live healthy, dignified, and productive lives.

Our Achievements

Our Three Major Achievements

1.

Transforming Lives Through Clean Wate

Access to clean water has transformed thousands of lives across the Lake Victoria Basin. Through the successful implementation of the Atela Community Water Project, ATN-K has provided safe and reliable drinking water to more than 5,090 people, including households, schools, and community institutions.

The project has significantly reduced waterborne diseases, improved sanitation, increased school attendance, and relieved women and children from the burden of travelling long distances in search of water. It stands as one of ATN-K's most impactful and life-changing initiatives.

2.

Advancing Sustainable Agriculture Through Renewable Energy

ATN-K has empowered farming communities by introducing solar-powered irrigation systems that enable year-round crop production despite changing climate conditions.

Through climate-smart agriculture, farmer training, and renewable energy technologies, households have increased food production, improved nutrition, diversified incomes, and strengthened resilience against drought.

The initiative continues to create sustainable livelihoods while promoting environmentally responsible farming practices.

3.

Empowering Communities Through Education and Digital Innovation

ATN-K believes education is the foundation of sustainable development.

By supporting schools and vocational institutions with ICT equipment, internet connectivity, renewable energy, and digital learning resources, the organization is preparing young people with the knowledge and digital skills needed for future employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

These investments are helping bridge the digital divide while creating more inclusive and equitable educational opportunities for learners in underserved communities.
